CCC Web Presence

Cccwebsite At CCC we have been working on upgrading our web presence for a while now.  The biggest upgrade was overhauling our website (see left).  The new website runs on WordPress and is adapted from a theme/design that was done by Rob Spangler for another one of our websites: thrivebaltimore.net

Tons of people were involved with making it happen, starting with Rob's design, Zak's modifications for the new site, Ryan's kickin' graphics, Adam gathering and managing content from the staff team while I tried my best to learn WordPress on the fly to make it do what we wanted.

In addition to the new website, we launched our new blog, new Facebook page, and new Twitter account.  Check it out and let me know what you think.  Don't forget to subscribe to blog updates, follow us on twitter and become a fan on our Facebook page.

Great website update. We are in the early process of doing the same. I think you said you used WordPress, did you have them host it?

Did you purchase a theme or use one of their free ones?

    Hey Rob,

We did use WordPress, and hosted it separately on A Small Orange (www.asmallorange.com). Rob Spangler designed the one site for us, by creating or modifying a WordPress theme. If he modified one, I’m not sure which one he used (free or $$$). WOO themes are great WordPress themes, some are free and some cost a little.

We also used WordPress Multi-user, which allows us to have different blogs (websites) managed under the same base site. So, http://www.communitycc.net, http://www.communitycc.net/kidstuf/ and our blog (www.communitycc.net/cccblog) are all different “blogs” under the base communitycc.net installation. We can manage them all from one login.

Let me know how I can help you all. We hit a lot of bumps along the way which forced me to learn a lot. A good suggestion would be to have your site hosted on a Linux server, and not Windows. WordPress has less issues with Linux.
